5/8/05 Kids are so resilient

EDIT as I compile these for the new blog: An interesting comment about how our improved nutrition seemed to be keeping us healthier. Who knew that the worst of our health struggles still lay ahead on the horizon. I can remember spending over 2 months during the winter of 2005-2006 trying to get over a chest cold that just wouldn't go away.

W and R are over the cold already and are out and playing in the yard. It's amazing sometimes how quickly they get over illness, if they catch it at all. This past year has been such a healthier year compared to last. It has gotta be our change in nutrition. There were lots of nasties going around, and we just didn't come down with any of it, even when directly around the sick. On the rare occasion that one of us does catch something, it is mild and over relatively fast. It is likely that they caught this cold from T's parents and sister, all of whom are still trying to fight it off, and have been for a week now (W and R knocked it out in 1 day and 1/2, and I never really got it, just a headache and the sleepies for 1 day). I complain sometimes about the cost of good nutrition or the time it takes to prepare healthy meals, but in the end it really is worth it.
